Snapshots. I’m a serial taker. With terabytes of memory I hoard them. The anointed few become source material for the paintings, the remainder . . . a guilty pleasure. This Tuesday, acknowledging the one fiftieth, a guilty pair from the vault.

Thank you! The hands are a recent addition to my collection of ephemera, the dolls head a gift that has kept watch over my studio endeavors for decades. I’m attracted to these industrial sites, and especially like to photograph them out of the window of a moving vehicle. It gives them a dream like quality, something not quite real yet hyper real at the same time. This particular snapshot was taken on I10 between Phoenix and Tucson.
