Stepping Back (The Theatrical Version)

#184 – Tuesday, April 14th

Historically, I’m a deliberate and measured painter. It wasn’t uncommon for a canvas to be in progress for months on end. While I’d always have more than one painting in play at a time, in a good year I’d finish maybe seven.  But I’ve been a dervish, and now it’s time to step back (more about that here).  When not painting, I’m combining the odd bit, a type of research masquerading as play. So for this Tuesday, three and one. The three? Small-scale theatrical devices for adornment. The one? A reclamation project from the dervish days.
