Coming Undone (Impulse, Neglect, or Force of Nature)

#210 – Tuesday, February 9th

On the drawing of temporary structures. Compositions devised to exist for moments, or hours, sometimes days, and occasionally for years. They rely on friction for equilibrium, before coming undone by impulse, neglect or the forces of nature. They inhabit the studio, house, and my garden. I call them drawings because that’s the function they serve . . . dimensional studies for the paintings, an exercise in seeing, and just plain fun. For this Tuesday, details from a garden occasional variety , well on its way to coming undone.
